What do the terms freight forwarder, consigner and consignee mean?

The “freight forwarder” refers to the company which arranges the goods to be transported from one place to another, up on payment by the consigner. ‘Consigner’ is someone whose goods are to be shifted to a particular destination. ‘Consignee’ is the person who receives the shipment.

Do I need to pack my goods?

Yes, it is advised that you pack your items thoroughly to ensure the safety of your goods. We also provide packing up on payment, if specifically requested.

How is the weight calculated for my goods?

Usually it is the actual weight of the goods, but in some cases, carriers will calculate “Chargeable Weight”. Chargeable weight is calculated using the dimensions of the good, such as length, width and height.

What is the maximum weight which I can transport?

The maximum weight of the good depends on the airlines used to transport your goods. Just contact us, with your requirement and destination, and we will let you know the maximum size and weight of your cargo.

Do you provide door-to-door deliver?

Yes, we provide door to door delivery for your domestic and international goods. Please visit our “Services” section to know more about different services.

What is your usual transit time?

For airport to airport shipping, it’s usually 4-6 days. For door to door it may take slightly longer time, on average up to 7 days, because of customs clearance. Please note that unforeseen delays may sometimes happen due to reasons out of our hands, and Goodwill Cargo may not be held responsible for such events.

Is there restrictions on specific types of cargos?

Yes, some items such as highly inflammable substances, certain hazardous chemicals, etc. are restricted to shipped through air freight. To know more details about the non-permissible items, please contact us directly.

Do I need to do any advance paperwork?

Yes, you must do certain paperwork such as your personal details, shipping address, etc. Please contact us for the forms.

How secure is my cargo with you?
